Elsa Jean McTaggart on Tour

26 May 2012 - 25 Aug 2012, Lewis

PLEASE NOTE: This event has now finished

Elsa is an accomplished Scottish singer song writer.

She plays guitar and also writes and performs tunes for the fiddle and whistle and has frequently been likened vocally to Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchel and Joan Baez..( a highland version!!). This tour will see Elsa grace venues around Scotland's Islands and the mainland of Scotland.

The show consists of original compositions of traditional style...lively jigs, reels, hornpipes, airs etc, played on the fiddle and whistle. Her songs, which would come under ‘world music’ ranging from folk to contemporary, blues, Jazz and swing, are performed with guitar, acapella or sometimes the fiddle.

Elsa writes about life, about spiritual and emotional aspects, and about people she has met on her travels. Each composition has its inspiration, so short stories and anecdotes are all part and parcel to the show.
Elsa is accompanied on piano/keyboards and accordion by Mr Lister.

She has just launched her lastest CD, and is on tour again with her own material for the second year running, after the succesful first tour in 2011.
